The hotel is close to my business place. The location is convenient to go around and shop
Facilities were comfortable, front desk service was good, breakfast is decent as far as Chinese hotels are concerned (maybe a 3-star standard). I was surprised that the breakfast had a few Western selections.
My room could have been cleaner, it was somewhat dusty, and the bathroom floors were not very clean - when I used a wipe to wipe the bathroom countertops, the wipe was dark grey. We ended up staying in a suite rather than family room - although we booked a family room, it was not available when we checked in. We were disappointed but the hotel staff was very willing to make up for it.
The staff was great. Solid English at the front desk. Television had several English language channels. Beds are fairly soft. Good pillows. Hallways were quiet at night. Cleaning staff was respectful of Do Not Disturb signs.
Lowest priced rooms are very small. Too small. The room smelled very musty. I think the reason for the musty smell is the design of the bath/shower. Awesome tub, but when you shower, the water easily spills over and under the tub. Don't know where this water drains. The internet is very inconsistent. I've stayed in dozens of Chinese hotels, and none were as bad as this hotel.
We had family room with two bedrooms and bathrooms. Rooms were ok, but the carpet would be more confortable. On the same street there are many shopping possibilities (Pearl City shopping center) and very nice restaurants.
Very convinient place to move around the city.Hotel staff were good.
Room was not very clean. We found few small cockroaches moving around which was not good for a 4 star standard.
internet connection and breakfast
most of the stuff poorly speak english
I like the lobby and the pub, the chinses restaurant sounds splendid.
Closer to the work place, and easy to get taxi
Very good breakfast, every day something new. The hotel was very far to intex Shanghai, therefore we choose it.
Unclean carpet in the room and dusty everywhere, this facts leave bad memories about the hotel.
Water drainage doesn't work properly in the bathtub (clogged). We asked to be transferred to another room but they were no "guaranteed" non-smoking rooms available (i.e. we were proposed to visit them and smell if there was tobacco smell...). Asked if anything available in the same floor "guaranteed non-smoking" (7th): reply was "all rooms in that floor suffer the same clogging problem" ! Interesting...
Thanks for May•zhou's help.
Convenient; close to Pearl Tower shopping and Western food.
Would be better if one of the staff was fluent in English. Not a big problem though.
Nice Rooms Good Location Value for money
Proximity to the work place; Availability of transport (taxi)
- Great english speaking staff at the reception - well decorated and clean looking hallways and corridors - room was nice and everything worked (like solid taps in the bathroom, remotecontrol, nice big wide screen TV - internet was both wireless and via cable free accessible - well isolated rooms and no noise from the street - complete set of showergels, toothbrushkit, even shoepolish kit available in your room - breakfast got plenty international diversity like bread, yoghurt, fresh coffee machine, croissant, and cereals etc. - close to a big fake market and to a driving range - close to Hongqiao airport
- A bit far from the Metro network (2.3 kilometer North or South) - not a real cosy hotelbar (but Hongmei restaurant street is 10 mins walk or 2 mins by taxi)
